Purdue Football Coach Shares Thoughts As Preseason Wraps Up
"I'm incredibly pleased with the effort and commitment our guys have put in this offseason," Brohm stated. "The energy and camaraderie on this team is infectious, and it's generating a lot of momentum heading into fall camp."
Coach Brohm emphasized the offense's strides in improving efficiency, specifically in the passing game. "Our quarterbacks have been making great decisions and our receivers are getting open," he said. "We're developing a lethal combination in that area."
While acknowledging the offense's progress, Brohm also stressed the importance of a strong defense. "Our goal is to be an attacking defense that applies constant pressure and creates turnovers," he explained. "We've got some young guys with high potential who are eager to make an impact."
Purdue faces a challenging schedule in 2023, with games against several ranked opponents. Coach Brohm believes this will test the team's mettle and provide valuable experience. "We know we're going to face some adversity," he said, "but we embrace it. We'll use it to grow as a team and build our character."
When asked about his ultimate goals for the season, Brohm was clear: "Our focus is on competing for a championship," he affirmed. "We believe in the talent and dedication of our players, and we're going to give it our all to bring home that trophy."
As Purdue enters fall camp, the team carries with them a sense of optimism and anticipation. Coach Jeff Brohm's leadership and the players' commitment have created a foundation for success in the upcoming season.
